
Dr. Mark Carter received his Master's Degree and his Ph.D. in Early and Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. Most recently, Mark earned National Board Certification in 2002 for teaching practices in mathematics and language arts as a Middle Childhood Teacher. During 29 years in education he has served as Elementary Instructional Specialist, Coordinator of K-12 Assessment for Language Arts and Mathematics, and elementary teacher grades 2 through grades 6.
Dr. Carter does inservice training throughout the United States and writes extensively about classroom-based assessment practices. He is co-author of Portfolio Assessment in the Reading Writing Classroom, Christopher Gordon Publication, 1992. He is co-author of The Developing Writer’s Assessment (DWA), 2001, The Developmental Reading Assessment 4-8 (DRA 4-8), 2002, The Developmental Reading Assessment Bridge Kit, (DRA Bridge), 2003, and The DRA2, 2006, published by Celebration Press an imprint of Pearson Learning Group. Most recently Mark has co-authored the Developmental Mathematics Assessment, (DMA), 2007, published by the Developmental Math Group.

Mrs. Karen Boreman has been a classroom teacher for 30 years. She has experience teaching preschool thru sixth grade, with many years teaching in a multi aged 1/2 classroom. She received the Golden Apple Award from Upper Arlington and Distinguished Mentor Teacher from The Ohio State University.
Mrs. Boreman has served as the grade level representative for several math course of study revisions and was an early implementer for Everyday Math in Upper Arlington. Karen does inservice training in the Central Ohio area for primary mathematics. She has been a member of NCTM since 1986 and has presented at NCTM, OCTM and NAEYC conferences. She was on the original writing team that wrote the DRA for Primary grades. She was a math teacher leader for the Science and Math Network of Central Ohio. She also served on the primary math writing committee for the state of Ohio. Karen has co-authored the Developmental Mathematics Assessment, (DMA), 2007, published by the Developmental Math Group.

Dr. Debra Rucker received her Master's Degree and her Ph.D. in Early and Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. She has been a classroom teacher and currently is serving as a K-12 math/science Teacher Leader and she occasionally teaches the pre-k to 3 math methods course at The Ohio State University.
At the national level she was on the program committee for the 2006 NCTM annual conference; was co-chair for the 2001 midwest regional NCTM conference ; presented at NCTM regional conference and presented at the 2007 Atlanta NCTM conference.
At the state level she has served on several Ohio Department of Education task force committees, the current 5th grade Ohio Achievement Test writing committee, 2000 NCTM Standards Roll out Committee to name a few. She has also been active in OCTM (Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics), serving as program chair for the 1999 Ohio annual conference, Central Ohio director and vice president for OCTM and speaker at numerous conferences. She also does inservice training throughout Ohio. Debra has co-authored the Developmental Mathematics Assessment, (DMA), 2007, published by the Developmental Math Group.
